Josh was signing the other day and someone asked if he had a hearing problem. I realized that some of you may be wondering the same thing. No Josh doesn't have a hearing problem. I sign with him because babies and toddlers can pick up on signing faster than they learn to speak. It gives them an opportunity to expand their communication options and eliminates frustrations. For example if he wants some milk he will just come to me and do the "milk" sign instead of whining until I figure out what he wants. Babies already sign with pointing, waving etc. teaching them more signs just widens their "vocabulary".

It's really cute, and useful too!
Gavin is totally uninterested. Maybe you'll be able to teach him when we come visit. :)
