Clark County Fair

A few weeks ago the Clark County fair was held here in town. The fair is a big deal around here, kids take off school, mutual was canceled and for four days it is the talk of the town. Fair days are ten times as fun when you have a child to enjoy it with. Josh thoroughly impressed. He loved the live animal exhibits where they had every farm animal you can imagine, goats, pigs, roosters, rabbits, turkeys etc. We spent a lot of time petting the animals. He kept saying "this a nice one," I'm not sure if he was telling me how nice the animals were or if he was reassuring himself that they were not going to bite him! This year they even had a monkey, that Josh got to hold and a zebra. This was his first time riding the carnival rides, he thought it was just about the greatest thing ever! His favorite ride was probably a toss up between the motorcycles and the airplanes. He told me when he was getting on the airplane ride, "oh, Mom, this a fancy one!"

A highlight of the fair is the mutton bustin' competition. Children hop on a caged sheep, bull riding fashion, the sheep is released and they try to hold on as long as they can. Josh's cousin Cameron competed this year. He was determined not to let go here he is still holding on til the biter end:
